Dear Agile Family,
Over the past two months, we had the pleasure of collaborating with the talented team at Tingly Toes Productions to bring the 18th Edition of Dance Week Festival 2024 to life.
This year’s theme, “Dancing into Climate Action”, was more than a performance—it was a movement!
Making Moves for Climate Advocacy.
With a communications strategy that placed dance at the heart of climate advocacy, we highlighted how art can influence meaningful change.
Our team ran an electrifying campaign that created a buzz across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter, delivering over 200 posts. These posts featured incredible artists and choreographers, igniting conversations among the youth on how creatives can champion climate action.
PR Wins that Moved the Needle.
One of the highlights was securing the presence of @Hon. Dr. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, Minister of State for Youth and Children’s Affairs, who opened the festival with a powerful keynote on the transformative role of the arts📣. It was a huge win for the festival and our broader campaign to show how much the arts can contribute to advocacy.
FUNFACT: Hon. Dr Balaam is a timekeeper!
Our PR efforts extended beyond social media and press coverage by Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) and New Vision, it helped amplify our climate action message even further! Brilliant keynote presentations by experts like Dagmar Zwebe, Amelia Kyaka, @Cosmas Kule, and Owiny Hakim Owiny added depth to the conversation.
Dance, Expression, and Impact.
With 82 performers on the main stage and 120 in the opening act, Dance Week Festival 2024 showcased talent from all over East Africa. The energy was incredible, and the guests walked away entertained and more aware of how the creative arts can address urgent environmental challenges and what action to take.
We’re immensely proud to have been part of something so special. Through creative storytelling, social outreach, and strategic partnerships, our team at Agile Media Africa Betty Kakyo Aggie Patricia Turwomwe Ronald Otim helped turn the Dance Week Festival into a platform for both artistic expression and climate action advocacy.
What’s Next?
While we’ve wrapped up this chapter, we’re buzzing with excitement about future projects and partnerships. We can’t wait to continue pushing boundaries and bringing more purpose-driven campaigns to life.
Thanks to all of you for being part of this amazing journey.
We want to keep creating, collaborating, and advocating for change, one campaign at a time.
Cheers to the power of the arts and their meaningful impact!
With Gratitude,
The Agile Media Africa Team
